The following privacy policy has been created to inform users how their “personally identifiable information” (PII) is being used by the Site.  PII, as used in U.S. information security, is information that can be used on its own or in conjunction with other information to identify, contact, or locate or identify a single person either directly or indirectly.  The information below describes how we collect, use, protect or otherwise handle your PII.

What PII do we collect from the people that visit our Site? 

When visiting our Site, you may be asked to enter our name, address, email, and phone number.  We also collect your IP address through the use of cookies, which is discussed above.  We never ask for private information such as social security numbers, birth dates, or credit card numbers.

When do we collect our PII information? 
Most of our information is collected when you subscribe to our blogs, newsletters, and/or voluntarily fill out a form on our Site.

How do we use your PII?
We may use the information we collect only for our internal marketing purposes.  We may send you periodic emails regarding our goods and services, or send you links to our blog.  We may also use your information to track the marketing and SEO of our Site.  We will never sell your PII to third parties.

How do we protect your PII? 
Our Site is scanned on a regular basis for security purposes and known/unknown vulnerabilities.  We conduct our periodic scans in order to make your visit to our Site as safe and secure as possible.  All PII we collect is contained behind a secured network and is only accessible by a limited number of people.  PII is also encrypted via a secure socket layer, and no PII is stored on our internal serves.

Do sell our PII to third parties? 
No.  We never sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to outside parties your PII.  We use your PII internally and with our website hosting partners to conduct our business and/or serve our users.  Any person who receives your PII is under a confidentiality agreement.  The only time we will release your PII is when we are forced to do so to comply with the law, enforce our Site policies, or to protect ours or others’ rights, property, and/or safety.  Non-PII may be provided to other parties for marketing, advertising, or other uses.

What about links to third party websites? 
We may occasionally provide links to third party websites on our Site.  These third-party sites are separate and distinct from HB Specialty Foods and have separate and independent privacy policies. We therefore have no responsibility or liability for the content and activities on linked sites. Nonetheless, we seek to protect the integrity of our site and welcome any feedback about these sites.

What about fair information practices and spam emails? 
In order to be compliant with fair information practices, should a data breach occur, we will notify any affects users via in-site notification within 7 business days from the date we learn of the breach.  As for emails, we agree to the following: We will not use false or misleading subjects or email addresses; If the email is an advertisement, we will identify it as such in some reasonable way; If we ever use a third-party email marketing service, we will monitor such service for compliance with our privacy policy; and We will allow users to opt-out/unsubscribe whenever they want.
